Our Terms & Policy

Because we care about the safety and well-being of all pets, we want to assure you that we will make every effort to make your pet's grooming visit as pleasant as possible.

Our Policy

  • All pets MUST have rabies vaccine to receive services.

  • Puppies need THIRD ROUND at least to receive services.

  • Pets with major skin issues will NOT receive services (deep wounds, gashed/tears in skin, flea/tick infestation, ear infection, eye infection.

  • Female dogs in heat/pregnant or nursing will NOT receive service.

  • Matted pets will need to be shaved in order to proceed with bathing services and there will be a dematting fee based on severity and condition of coat.

  • (Owner MUST agree to shaving prior to check-in)​

  • Overly Aggressive pets will be sent home.

  • Extremely stressed pets will be sent home.

YOUR PET IS IMPORTANT TO US!
 

  • If during an appointment it becomes apparent that your pet is not able to be groomed due to aggression/behavior or any other issue, the customer will only be charged for what services have been performed.

  • Minor injuries such as nicks from clippers, scissors, or toenail trimmers may result if your pet does not respond to the groomer and remain still during the grooming or toenail trimming procedures.

  • If your pet has any allergies or medical conditions (epilepsy/seizures, diabetes, arthritis, separation anxiety, asthma, etc.), it is extremely important that you make the groomer aware of any medical & behavioral issues so that we can take the necessary steps to ensure your pet's utmost safety and comfort.

  • Anal gland expression is done externally by our groomers. If you find your pet having persistent irritation of their rear end, we encourage you to speak with our staff as your pet could be experiencing irritation from the external expression provided during their time in grooming or from a preexisting condition.

  • Occasionally, grooming can aggravate a current, or expose a preexisting medical condition. Such medical conditions could arise during or after the grooming procedure. In the event of this situation, The customer shall not hold the Groomer liable. The customer shall not hold the Groomer liable for any skin irritations that may result from grooming procedures or any stressful effects that grooming may have on young, geriatric, timid, or temperamental pets.

  • The customer also shall not hold the Groomer liable for any problems uncovered on a badly matted or otherwise neglected coat or integument.

  • Customer assumes all liabilities, financial and otherwise, for the behavior and health of their pet during our professional grooming session. In consideration of the services rendered by Colonies Pet Grooming, the Customer waives any and all claims, actions, or demands of any nature, foreseen or unforeseen relating to the care, control, and health of the customer's pet arising during or after services performed by the Groomer.​​​​​

If we determine that continuing the grooming service would present a threat to your dog's emotional or physical health and/or the safety of the groomer completing the service, we will discontinue services immediately and contact you for pick up. We are not responsible for any pre-existing medical conditions or medical conditions that happen after the service caused by severe matting or condition of the animal.

We might need to use proper restraints including muzzles, grooming loops, groomers helpers, grooming restraints, etc.

If the establishment seems unsafe to continue services we will discontinue services immediately.

Colonies Pet Grooming holds the highest standards to ensure that your pet is handled with respect and cared for properly. We recognize and respect that all pets are living beings who have feelings and experience emotions. We value that you have entrusted in us to provide our services to them.

FEES

​A card on file is required in case of:
 

  • NO SHOW to appointment = $30.00.

  • Cancelation Fee within 24 hours = $30.00.

  • Late Drop off Fee = $5.00 for every 5 min past appointment time without notice.

  • Late Pickup Fee = $5.00 for every 5 min past 1 hour from pick up time without notice.
